Let me borrow the words of the famous Peter Drucker- “Today, knowledge has power. It controls access to technology and advancement.” Atlas Fertilizer Corporation, tagged as the oldest existing fertilizer brand in the country has lived up to the challenges of time. With the dawning of the cyber age, our company also has always been dynamic. We have not only adopted the time’s challenge in creating a virtual network for better system management but have also updated our way of serving our end-users, our farmers.
Today, the internet is one of the most essential technological advancement. And, to better serve the farmers, we worked closely with International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in coming up with a web based Atlas Rice Crop Manager. The application, now up and running in the web was created by IRRI to suit AFC’s needs especially our clientele- the Filipino farmers. Coined based on the principle of Site-Specific Nutrient Management (SSNM), this application aims to address individual specific need of every farmer we can reach, thereby making each and every fertilizer recommendations that we give have a personal touch. Now, we will be able to reach as many farmers as we can and give them personalized recommendations respecting their yield levels, cropping practices and economic status as well. Rice farming has never been this exciting and shall we say, AFC takes the lead in technological advancement in the business here in the Philippines. The first of its kind to be adapted and implemented by a fertilizer company in the country, this technology marks the era of AFC’s next chapter of advancement in the industry.
