DELFIN L. LAZARO
Chairman, Board of Directors
Mr. Lazaro is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation for 15 years now. Being an independent director of AFC, Mr. Lazaro concurrently holds various important positions in several private corporations with a wide range of business interests. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Insular Life, member of the Board of Directors of Ayala Corporation, Globe Telecom, Ayala Land, Manila Water, Integrated Microeletronics, Empire Insurance and Probe Productions. He is likewise the President of Asiacom Inc. He was formerly the Head of the Philippine Government’s Energy Sector. He held various critical positions in the government, notably no less than as the Secretary of Energy, Chairman of National Power Corporation, Chairman of the Philippine National Oil Company, and Head of Energy Coordinating Council. Mr. Lazaro earned his bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Philippines and obtained his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from Harvard Graduate School of Business.
RAYMUND JOSE P. ILUSTRE
Vice Chairman, Board of Directors
Mr. Ilustre is the incumbent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation since May 2013. He was formerly President and Chief Operations Officer of AFC for 11 years. During his stint in AFC, he held various executive positions which were critical in the continued operations of AFC, particularly areas of materials management, sales, marketing and plant operations. His leadership in AFC brought fame and recognition to the company’s efforts to advocate the Site Specific Nutrient Management (SSNM) technology to our farmers. His relentless efforts to promote farming technology were widely accepted and acclaimed by both domestic and international organizations in the fertilizer business sector. He was once also a Division Manager at Sanofi Philippines Trading and Bio-Industries Division. Prior to AFC, Mr. Ilustre was with Benguet Corporation for 8 years holding different management positions as Special Projects Manager, Materials Administration & Control Manager, Purchasing Manager, Division Manager in Agribusiness and at the same time the President & Director of Benguet Management Marine, the Chairman & Director of Arrow Freight Corporation, Director of Benguet Management Forestry Corporation, Woodstown Condominium Corporation and Akayane Shipping Agency. He was also formerly connected with San Miguel Corporation for 2 years. Mr. Ilustre obtained his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines.

Mr. Funahashi started his career in business in 1983, when he joined Nissho Iwai Corporation after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from Kyoto University. He undertook various oil, gas, and chemical projects in Southeast Asia until 1997, when he was assigned to the Chemical Division. Throughout his professional journey, he gained expertise in Project Development and Management, Financing and Administration.
Two career highlights were (1) taking charge of gas price negotiation on behalf of P.T. Kaltim Methanol Industri in Jakarta, Indonesia where he was a Director (2008), and (2) accomplishing a $250 million deal between Sojitz Corporation and Lynas Corporation, which is the largest rare earths mining & processing firm outside of China (2011). Prior to his assignment to AFC, Mr. Funahashi was stationed in Hanoi as Deputy General Director, Sojitz Vietnam where he served for more than four (4) years.

In order to fascinate the audience, instead of staring at the score, you should listen carefully to other musicians of the entire orchestra. What is most needed for Atlas is the harmony. “

ROLANDO A. BASCO JR.
Member, Board of Directors
Mr. Basco is concurrently the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation (AFC) while at the same becoming an active member of the Board of Directors of AFC and two (2) of its subsidiaries. He spent more than 25 years of solid experience in Finance, Treasury and Budget. He joined AFC in year 1993, starting out as a Manager in Treasury Department. Because of his excellent performance and outstanding skills, he then after a year was promoted as Assistant Vice President and was later promoted as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in year 2002. Mr. Basco was formerly connected with Benguet Corporation where he gained more than 13 years of experience in the field of Treasury and Budget. He earned his degree in Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Feati University.

Mr. Daisuke Ojima is currently the President of Sojitz Philippines Corporation. He is a graduate of the International Christian University in Tokyo with a Master’s in Public Administration in 1995. Immediately joining Nissho Iwai after graduation, he was assigned in Business Development with the Energy and Chemical Project Division, taking charge of plant projects in gas & oil producing countries. He continued his service while assigned to Nissho Iwai, Mexico in 2001 – 2006. Under Sojitz, he returned to Tokyo in 2006 – 2010. Later, he was appointed General Manager of Sojitz Corporation representative office in Luanda, Angola until 2014. Again, he returned to his expertise in Business Development in Tokyo from 2014 – 2017. During 2017, Mr. Ojima was assigned as the President of Sojitz Philippines Corporation.
Mr. Ojima’s philosophy of being sincere to everybody is vital to the growth of both the self, and to the partners or customers. This personal philosophy is significant for Philippine culture, most especially, that banking on his expertise in business development that has been honed in different countries, he knows that he can make noteworthy and substantial improvements in the agriculture industry that is considered to be highly traditional. Unafraid of challenges, Mr. Ojima envisions to someday find and create new value for Atlas and Philippine agriculture.

Mr. Yamashita is currently the General Manager for Grain & Agribusiness of Sojitz Corporation. He joined as a Member of the Board of AFC in June 2016. Mr. Yamashita believes that crucial project investments in the Philippine fertilizer industry will fulfill the growing potential need for a booming economy and growing population.
He has more than 20 years of significant experience, holding key international leadership roles beginning as the head for the import & export business unit of Nissho Iwai Corporation, Japan in April 1995. He moved on to become a Trader for Inorganic Chemical Department from 1998 – 2003. He was later assigned and led Nissho Iwai Germany’s Chemical Department as Manager from 2003-2005, and moved on to Sojitz Corporation London as Manager for Chemical Fertilizers from 2005 – 2008. He returned to Sojitz Corporation Tokyo as the Manager for Chemical Department in 2008. Prior to his current responsibilities, he was assigned as the General Manager for Grain Materials Department that was responsible for corn, soy, palm oil and animal feeds business units of Sojitz Corporation.
Mr. Takahiro Yamashita is a graduate of Law Science from Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.

Mr. Kiminori Ogata is the Manager of the Compliance Administration Section of Sojitz Legal Department in Tokyo. A native of Tokyo, and having graduated with a Law degree from Sophia University in 1995, Mr. Ogata commenced his legal career with Nichimen Corporation. He was later assigned as the General Manager of Nichimen’s London Legal Department and extended his London assignment under Sojitz Europe until 2008. Upon his return to Sojitz Corporation in Tokyo, he was assigned as Deputy Manager, and later Manager at the Sojitz Legal Department.
In Mr. Ogata’s view, the expansion and growing importance of the Philippine agricultural industry reinforces the vital need to maximize the talent and ability of everyone at Atlas. He believes that a great working environment fosters the inspiration and creativity needed to overcome business challenges. As a Director of Atlas, Mr. Ogata draws from his experience working across a broad range of assignments in various jurisdictions globally. He values the importance of effective cross-cultural communication to ensure initiatives that benefit all stakeholders, local and abroad, are achieved.
ATTY. CESAR C. CRUZ
Atty. Cruz is the incumbent Corporate Secretary of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation. He is the founder and Managing Partner of his private law firm, Cesar C. Cruz & Partners Law Offices. His law firm handles various legal services involving intellectual property and technology transfers, labor and employment, corporate, securities and commercial, investments and economic zones, civil, tax, and immigration laws and related litigation among others. Atty. Cruz established his own practice in 1958 and quickly became a recognized leader in the Philippine legal community. His reputation as a fair and exceptionally skilled practitioner earned him an appointment as the Municipal Judge of Mandaluyong City. After 8 years on the bench, he resigned from his judicial position to focus on his private practice. As part of his general commercial law expertise, Mr. Cruz was one of the first lawyers in the Philippines to specialize in intellectual property law. He was formerly the president of Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines and is affiliated with International Trademark Association, Asian Patent Attorneys Association, Licensing Executives Society (International & Philippines), European Community Trademark Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Institute of Trademarks (U.K.), European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Rotary Club of Makati City, Philippine Bar Association and Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He earned his Associate in Arts and Bachelor of Laws at University of the Philippines. He took special courses in Taxation of Mergers and Acquisition and International Business Transactions in the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard Law School.
ATTY. SWEET FAITH A. SECIO
Assistant Corporate Secretary
Atty. Secio is the incumbent Assistant Corporate Secretary of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation. She has with her, more than 10 years of progressively responsible experience in various legal practices of law and corporate governance. She joined Atlas Fertilizer Corporation in year 2011 as a Corporate Lawyer and in charge of the Legal and Compliance Office and at the same time was appointed by the Board as the Assistant Corporate Secretary. Because of her performance and notable skills in doing administrative functions, she later on was asked to serve several key positions in AFC. In 2013, she served as Internal Audit Manager in addition to her position as Compliance Desk Manager, Legal Office Senior Manager, Personnel Management & Industrial Relations Department Senior Manager, and Assistant Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to her stint in AFC, Atty. Secio served at the Supreme Court of the Philippines ,Office of the Court Administrator as one of its court attorney and at the same time a professor teaching Civil Laws on Partnership, Obligations and Contracts, and Corporation Law to university students. She later joined a private law firm engaged in handling civil law cases, real estate foreclosure, taxation, insurance, labor law and intellectual property. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences Major in Economics at the University of the Philippines and obtained her Bachelor of Laws from Manuel L. Quezon University, School of Law and thereafter became a member of the Philippine Bar in year 2004.
