Hon. Alfred Uy Chan is the proud owner of AC Marketing. Born on January 31, 1955 in Cebu City. He is a mechanical engineering graduate from Colegio de San Jose Recoletos in 1976. He is happily married to Amy Tiu Chan and blessed with three children, Michael Chan, Atty. Rochell Chan and Michelle Chan.
Presently, he is on his second term as the vice mayor of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.
He is into businesses like construction and hardware materials and copra buying. But it is with copra buying that he engaged much of himself with the farmers. He realized then the potential and opportunity for fertilizer business especially in the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula, whose economy is largely dependent on agriculture especially rice, corn, coconut, and rubber amongst others. It is with the fertilizer business that he saw the opportunity to earn while helping farmers harvest and earn more also.
He then considered Atlas, not just for being the oldest fertilizer company in the Philippines, but for the thousands of farmers the company had helped throughout the years passed. The year was 2000, when finally the good partnership between him and ATLAS Fertilizer Corporation commenced. He currently has 10 dealers, covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte and some parts of Zamboanga Sibugay and still continues to grow in terms of farmers being served.
His warehouse facilities could store up to a total of 150,000 bags of fertilizer. Ports of operation are Liloy, Sindangan, and Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.
In the coming years, hand-in-hand with ATLAS, he hopes to continue to help farmers earn more and continue to promote ATLAS Fertilizer as “ Bukang Bibig Ng Magsasaka”.
